The aimof the present study was to analyze cardiovascular risk factorsin high school students. In order to do so, 162 adolescentsparticipated in this study. Students underwent anthropometricmeasurements, had blood samples collected and answered theInternational Physical Activity Questionnaire. Statistical analysiswere performed using the Mann-Whitney’s U-test and KruskallWallis’test. The level of significance adopted was P<0.05 andthe software used was the SPSS 22.0. Results showedstatistically significant differences between the sexes onanthropometry, blood pressure, and lipid profile. Subjects withthree cardiovascular risk factors presented higher BMI, body fatpercentage and waist-to-height ratio when compared to thosewithout risk factors. The results indicate an association betweenanthropometry and cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents.
