摘要:AbstractThis study aimed to explore self-handicapping of college students towards English learning, to investigate the relationship among individual goal orientation, self-handicapping, and English performance, and to analyze the mediating role of self-handicapping between individual goal orientation and English learning performance, and to assess the model fit between empirically observed data and self-handicapping model proposed by the researcher of this study. The results of this study found that there was a statistically significant direct effect on self-handicapping and English performance & a positive relationship between individual goal orientation and English performance.
