摘要：AbstractThe present study examined the relationship between the Greek school career counselors’ competencies and burnout syndrome. One-hundred eighty seven professionals were administered the International Competencies for Educational and Vocational Guidance Practitioners Questionnaire and the Masclach Burnout Inventory-General Survey. The results revealed that cynicism and emotional exhaustion are negatively related with the effective implementation of the core counseling competencies, while professional efficacy is positively related with the implementation and adequate training of almost all domain-specific competencies. The counselors’ training programs in Greece need to provide adequate education in all aspects of counselors’ role so as to decrease burn-out effects among practitioners.
