摘要:The comprehension impairment in Wernicke9s aphasia (WA) in conjunction with its neuroanatomical correlate has been influential in developing neurobiological models of language. Despite this, the cognitive cause of the comprehension impairment remains contentious. Three hypotheses of the nature of the comprehension impairment in WA have been proposed: 1) impaired access to semantic representations due to impaired phonological analysis (Luria, 1976); 2) disruption to semantic processes (Dronkerset al., 2004); and 3) dual breakdown of phonological and semantic analysis (Baker et al., 1981).
