摘要:Naming deficits occur early in individuals with dementia of the Alzheimer type (DAT). However, there is no consensus on whether this type of deficit reflects a breakdown in semantic processing or a difficulty in accessing intact lexical information (e.g., Asteli & Harley, 1998; Giffird et al., 2001). To address this issue, some previous studies have looked at error patterns during a single naming task and use of semantic and phonemic cueing to support performance (e.g., Balthazar et al. 2008). In the current study, we evaluated performance on the Lexis Battery (De Partzet al., 2001) which allows objective comparison of (1) picture naming, (2) word-to-picture matching, and (3) picture matching using the same items across tasks.
