摘要:Low frequency repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) has been safely and successfiilly applied to patients with chronic non-fluent aphasia to modulate neural language networks post left hemisphere stroke. Improvements in behavioural language performance have been reported. The inhioition of right hemisphere (RH) language homologues using low frequency rTMS and the subsequent improvements in naming may be due to Transcallosal Disinhibition (Thiel et al., 2006) where a decrease of overactivation in RH perisylvian sites may promote increased LH perilesional activations and fiinction.
