摘要:In the most advanced societies, higher life quality and an increase in leisure activities have stimulated cultural consumption and have thereby attracted the interest of economists in exploring issues related to the demand for the arts. In this paper we analyze the relationship between culture and education by providing an empirical analysis of live performing arts in Italy. We apply a multiple regression model on the levels of consumption in 20 Italian regions from 2000 to 2008. The findings seem to corroborate our hypothesis: the higher the education level, the more the habit of consuming cultural goods grows.
