摘要:In this study, basic books which have the potential of being used as textbooks, published in Turkey and other parts of the world in the last 10 years in measurement and evaluation filed have been examined through content analysis. According to the results of the research, the most important finding is that Turkish books are more general and they are at introduction level. Foreign books focus more specific areas and topics both in the content of the books and in title of the books. This study has revealed once more that beside theoretical knowledge, practising knowledge should also be included in the books. It would be appropriate to explain how to use the knowledge in the books and to provide more exercises and diverse examples as well as the knowledge itself to improve the skills of students.
