摘要:Since the 90s, it is a generally accepted fact that comprehension of semantically reversible passives is compromised in agrammatism, while their active counterparts are found to be spared. This dissociation tends to be explained in terms of trace deletion and default role assignment strategies (Grodzinsky^s (1995) Trace-Deletion Hypothesis). However, data have not remained uncontroversial (see Burchert and De Bleser (2004) for a discussion). In the case of Spanish, Benedet, Christiansen and Goodglass (1998) report a language-specific dissociation in the successful comprehension of actives and passives based on frequency. While Spanish speakers performed only at chance level, English speakers performed well above chance on both tasks. The present contribution aims at providing further evidence of the comprehension deficits associated with passive constructions in a group of 6 agrammatic Spanish speakers in order to deepen our knowledge of the patterns of impairment and variation.
