摘要：AbstractThe study presents the acceptability of the Library Periodical Indexing Software in terms of its performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating condition which are considered as the four core determinants of intention and usage according to the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) by Venkatesh. Technical qualities of the software were also measured using the following indicators: ease of navigation, adequacy of search facilities, color appropriateness, attractiveness and component organization.There were 171 respondents of the survey and 93% of which are students. Most of the respondents are under the age-bracket of 16 to 20 years old which corresponds to 84% of the total respondents. There is an equal distribution of male and female respondents. It should also be noted that 121 out of 171 respondents have a little knowledge in software/application development which constitutes 60% of the total respondents.Male respondents gave higher rate than that of the female respondents which supports one of the claims of the UTAUT model wherein it has identified gender to be one of the factors that mediates the impact of the direct determinants of usage intention and behaviour. The other mediators as mentioned in the UTAUT model are age, experience and facilitating condition. The acceptability survey conducted had a mean opinion score of 4.23 which is equivalent to the criteria – highly acceptable.
