摘要:AbstractDuring the last decade, advanced driver assistance systems (ADASs) have been developed. There are standards stipulating basic requirements for such systems [Forward Vehicle Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Change Assistance (LCA) etc.]. However the remaining challenge is the evaluation of the impact of those systems on the overall safety performance of the vehicle in real traffic situations. How can the safety performance of road vehicles be assessed world-wide in a systematic and repeatable manner? The answer to this question presupposes not only well defined test procedures that are relevant to real traffic situations but also the introduction of quantifiable safety performance indicators that reflect the overall safety performance of the vehicle.
