摘要：AbstractIn Malaysia, awareness of the need to enhance quality of life has led to the ecological development as an initiative for a sustainable environment. This paper presents a brief conceptual review of the issues and imperatives involved in determining the value of traditional rural landscape typologies that could enhance urban areas and maintain a cultural link with tradition.The review is based on the theoretical background and concepts of the relevant issues taken from various established references. The method specifically adopts visual analysis and observation in rural and urban areas. It is expected to provide a conceptual framework for analysing a more self-sufficient landscape in future developments.
