摘要:AbstractIn the Middle Ages the memory was a very important learning tool. This paper analyzes memory studies by authors such as St. Augustine, Hugh of St. Victor, Vincent of Beauvais, Gilbert de Tournay and St. Thomas Aquinas. The main conclusion is that the medieval authors understood memory as a fundamental tool for learning and reflection. In order to underline such conception, they developed very important works on the subjects of memory, recovery, learning and recover and underline these works, in order to vindicate “memory” as a key learning tool.
