摘要:The lexico-semantic processing capability of the right hemisphere has been a topic of considerable debate in thepast. Previous investigations employing various techniques (e.gs., Wada, divided visual field, functionalneuroimaging) in several clinical populations (e.gs., those with right hemisphere damage (RHD), left hemispheredamage, aphasia, recovering from aphasia, callosotomy, hemispherectomy) have provided divergent evidence onRH’s role in lexico-semantic processing. In the context of such divergent results, Joanette and colleagues (1990)proposed that the most reasonable evidence comes from studies on people with RHD with an intact linguistic lefthemisphere. Therefore, we investigated the lexico-semantic processing skills of the right hemisphere by comparingthe perfonnance of people with RHD with that of control participants on a set confrontation naming tasks.
