摘要:Nearly all individuals with aphasia exhibit some degree of reading impairment (acquired alexia). For theseindividuals, the increasing prevalence of written and electronic communication poses a particular challenge. Textreading treatments have been used to improve reading in individuals with aphasia/alexia; it is thought that thesemantic/syntactic constraints of text offer top-down support to assist in word identification (Beeson & Insalaco,1998). Although many reports of improved reading following text-based treatment exist, the mechanisms of suchimprovements remain unclear.
