摘要:The picture-word interference (PWI) paradigm has been used for evaluating semantic relatedness between concepts within a picture naming task. Previous studies using PWI have reported that noun primes {oven) facilitate naming speed of associated nouns (pie) (e.g., Sailor et al., 2009). Studies with verb primes using non-production tasks (e.g., lexical decision) have reported faster decisions on related thematic role targets (e.g., Ferretti et al., 2001). Mahon et al. (2007) also reported facilitation of noun naming using PWI with verbs (sleep-bed); however, various verb-noun relationships were combined into one group. Thus, the current study investigated the effect of verb primes on naming two thematic role categories and compared the verb priming effects to noun naming with associated noun primes.
