摘要:AbstractShah Alam has exhibited flourishingcul-de-sac courtyardneighbourhoods, which has stirred debatable interests. It is the objective of this paper to continue the discourse in measurable and technical analysis ofsub-classificationsorsyntax. The paper assembles physical data with key characteristics thatmake-upthe physical construct of acul-de-sac courtyardby administering measurements, observations and checklists. The sub-classification processes led to preliminary key factors such asdensity, size, design formsanduser implications. 18cul-de-sac courtyardsin Shah were catalogued and inventoried, elucidating its syntax. The database introduced potential in longitudinal research of the socio-spatialmicro-neighbourhoodunit, towards pragmatic applications in emergent design practices.
