  • 摘要:AbstractMotivation comes before demotivation in teaching learning process. The present paper goes the other way round to first factorize the reasons of demotivation which limit the students‟ performance and then finding motivation through best practices. Demotivation has not been extensively researched and discussed due to its negative orientation, though it plays an important role in the language learning process. The paper explores the issue of motivation-demotivation continuum so as to find remedy to demotivating factors. It investigates Saudi students‟ perspective of demotivating factors through the use of open-ended questionnaire and follow-up interviews. These findings provide useful information and implications for teaching professionals. Many demotivating factors were identified and if controlled will eventually result in Quality enhancement.
