摘要:AbstractWhen one examines EU policy documents, one observes that improving the quality of teacher education can be identified as a priority for the European Commission, while stepping up the attractiveness of the teaching career is not. However, the topic can be found in policy documents of other international organizations, like OCDE. This paper summarizes the current approaches of the topic and presents the results of an exploratory inquiry into the attractiveness of teaching profession in Romania. It also suggests next steps necessary in developing sound policies to attract valuable candidates to teaching profession and maintaining them within the education system.
