摘要:Patterns of aphasia in bilingual speakers are diverse. Most studies report better recovery of the first acquired language (LI) than the second language (L2) even if L2 is the dominant language spoken in the environment. However, other studies report the opposite pattern with L2 better than LI or no difference between LI and L2. Cognate status also has an impact on recovery with performance better for cognate than non-cognate words (Roberts & Deslauriers, 1999). Here we report a speaker of Mordovian (Ll)-Russian (L2) two languages with many noun cognates but few verb cognates. We predicted better performance in Mordovian (LI) than Russian (L2) and better performance naming nouns than verbs.
