摘要：Studies using functional neuroimaging have concluded that the angular gyms is cmcial forsemantic processing. For example, in a meta-analysis of over 120 imaging studies, Binder et al.(2009) reported that the densest concentration of activation foci across all studies was in the angulargyms. These findings are surprising, given that the angular gyms is not an area traditionallyconsidered a component of brain networks related to semantic processing or semantic control. Herewe present data from chronic and acute stroke patients with varying degrees of aphasia and varyingamounts of damage to the angular gyms with the goal of assessing the association between angulargyms damage and performance on several tasks that tap semantic processing.
