摘要:Tense inflection is notoriously difficult for individuals with agrammatic aphasia. Bastiaanse et al.(2011) claimed that this is because of a selective deficit in reference to the past. While for non-pasttime reference, only narrow syntax is needed, for past time reference, discourse and access toinformation structures play an additional role. Linking to an event in discourse is problematicbecause of insufficient processing resources in agrammatic aphasia (Avrutin, 2006). This is capturedin the Past Discourse Linking Hypothesis (PADILIH; Bastiaanse et al., 2011). Also in healthyspeakers, differences between past and non-past time reference have been found (Dragoy et al.,2012).
