摘要:Is Broca's area necessary for speech perception? In a preceding fMRI study we found that syllableprocessing by attentive listening did not involve Broca’s area, rather precentral regions, aside fromthe selection of one syllable from competitive stimuli, which involved the pars triangularis. Left p.opercularis is involved in target detection (word or tone) as well as in lip reading and in recognitionof musical gestures.
