摘要:AbstractIn the century of speed, any piece of information professionals come in contact with and disseminate orally requires adaptation to specific situations and contexts of communication. This paper uses Communication Theory to suggest ways of developing foreign language oral communication skills for students at universities of applied sciences, skills they need to communicate efficiently in various professional communication instances. Additionally, the paper presents the problems usually encountere d by foreign language students when they are asked to use technical language in various oral communication scenarios, and recommends some guidelines they can follow to improve their performance, e.g. in oral presentations. These include, but are not limited to, specific communication protocols and strategies for effective oral communication such as understanding, identifying, processing, practicing and adapting messages.
