摘要:AbstractWe investigated the mediating role of burnout in the relationship between job demands and quality of care, in a sample of 349 health professionals in Romania. We found that burnout totally mediates this relationship for residents and nurses, but not for physicians. These results have implications for designing interventions aiming at improving quality of care, suggesting that the focus should be on improving the quality of the working conditions, which has both a direct and a mediated effect on the qual ity of medical care provided to patients.
