摘要:AbstractThe present study is embedded in a broader research, and aims to assess driving performance of learners and experienced drivers. It presents results obtained through observation, in naturalistic situation, resorting to Lund Observation Protocol (adapted by Carvalhais, 2002), and intends to contribute to the understanding of driving task performance with learners and experienced drivers, considering three distinct roadway paths. Data collection was performed through video recording. Sample is made up of 30 participants, equally divided by learners and experienced drivers. For data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were applied. Results indicate that driving task experience has a statistically significant effect on overall performance and some specific performance aspects (such as car speed and overtaking). Research results contribute and reinforce not only the importance of systematizing knowledge, but also the value of initial and continuous training of drivers.
