摘要：AbstractThe relationship between the field of training -university- and the working environment is absolutely essential. The university must train its students to satisfy the needs of society, to build knowledge and to develop critical thinking but it cannot elude the commitment to prepare competent professionals. This paper shows the growing interest in researching on the labour insertion of graduates. The concept of competence is analysed and the differences between generic and specific competences are studied. The generic or transversal competences proposed by the Tuning project and other studies are delimited. Such competences, considered as key competences for employment, are contrasted with the data from an investigation that aimed to establish the profile of excellent university students. It is found that most of these skills are integrated into this profile. Working in the university to develop excellence also allows us to develop competences for employment.
其他摘要：esResumenLas relaciones entre el ámbito formativo –universidad- y el entorno laboral son absolutamente necesarias. La universidad tiene que formar a sus estudiantes para satisfacer las necesidades de la sociedad, construir conocimiento y desarrollar el pensamiento crítico, pero no puede eludir el compromiso de preparar profesionales competentes. En este trabajo se constata el creciente interés por la investigación sobre la inserción laboral de los titulados. Se analiza el concepto de competencia y se diferencia, también, entre competencias genéricas y específicas. Se delimitan las competencias genéricas o transversales propuestas por el proyecto Tuning y por otros estudios. Se contrastan tales competencias, que se consideran clave para el empleo, con los datos de una investigación que pretendía establecer el perfil de los alumnos universitarios excelentes. Se encuentra que la mayoría de tales competencias se integran en dicho perfil. Trabajar en la universidad para desarrollar la excelencia permite, también, desarrollar las competencias para el empleo.
