摘要：AbstractThe communication presents a theoretical reflection based on the fact that as educational level advances, the unemployment rate decreases. Based on this, we set out what should be the place employability should occupy in higher education. We found that the labour market demands professionals with skills related to creative imagination and innovation capabilities; and these are developed through an education that nurtures students’ curiosity and also linked to the vital concerns of learners. We need to rethink and reflect on the role teachers should play, besides mastering the theoretical knowledge of the disciplines they teach, teachers should become designers and developers of learning environments so that students improve their employability, taking into account ethical and scientific criteria. The communication concludes by arguing that caring for students as professionals implies providing an education for job satisfaction and for sustainable and equitable human development.
其他摘要：esResumenSe presenta una reflexión teórica que parte del hecho que conforme avanza el nivel educativo, la tasa de paro va disminuyendo. Y en base a ese hecho, se plantea cuál ha de ser el lugar que ocupe la empleabilidad en la educación superior. Se halla que el mundo laboral demanda profesionales con capacidades relacionadas con la imaginación e innovación creativa; y que éstas se desarrollan a través de una docencia que nutre la curiosidad del estudiantado y se vincula con las inquietudes vitales de quienes aprenden. Es necesario repensar y reflexionar sobre el rol del profesorado que, además de conocer los conocimientos teóricos de las disciplinas que imparte, ha de convertirse en diseñador y programador de entornos para que el alumnado mejore su empleabilidad, atendiendo a criterios éticos y científicos. Se concluye argumentando que el cuidado por el estudiantado como profesionales exige ofrecer una educación para la satisfacción laboral y al desarrollo humano sostenible y equitativo.
