摘要:AbstractThe establishment of tertiary institution causes mass inflow of students and increases housing demand. Landlords may not be sympathetic to them, but it puts financial pressure on students. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of such a University on house rent in Ogbomoso, Nigeria. Data was collected by using questionnaire survey on 1800 respondents chosen through stratified conditional random sampling. After statistical validation, the study revealed short supply of housing and Landlord's decisions as two major factors responsible the increase in house rent. The paper argued that legislation controlling the house rent is essential to secure both parties’ interest.
