摘要：The modern world is too densely populated, which prevents the lack of energy, the consequences of greenhouse gas emissions, the accumulation of hazardous waste, the use of toxic production methods. Without involving interested citizens, business representatives, and local authorities in solving these problems, it is not possible to solve the emerging problems. The article provides an overview of the existing ways of citizens' participation in solving environmental problems and ensuring sustainable development in large cities. In addition, some examples of real work being done in this direction are considered.
