摘要:Defenders hosts workshops on critical topics like diversionary feeding—moving subsistence-harvested marine mammal remains away from human settlements to reduce polar bear conflicts with humans, for example—and deterrent techniques like community patrols that warn residents that polar bears are in the area. We also are providing input on federal recovery plans for the polar bear and the Cook Inlet beluga whale. And we provide technical and policy guidance to a number of state and national agencies to ensure wildlife and habitat considerations are factored into land-planning decisions in Alaska.
