摘要：Son of the late George H. Brearley (1915-1985) and Madeleine E. Brearley (née Glazier) (1920-204) of Bothwell, Ontario. Retired professor in the Department of Classics & Religious Studies, University of Ottawa from 1967-204. He served as chairman of the Department of Classical Studies from 1975-1980 and 1993-1995 when the Faculty of Arts was restructured. Past member of the executive committee of the Association of Professors of the University of Ottawa (APUO) and other faculty committees. One of the founding co-editors of the Hiberno-Latin Newsletter and Founding Secretary-Treasurer of the Society for Hiberno-Latin Studies. After retirement, he divided his time between Ottawa and Paris and continued to work on various projects concerning the history of Russian Orthodox church music outside Russia in the 20th Century, giving papers in North America at regional conferences and in Russia (2008 and 2010). Additional books and databases in the field will be published posthumously by a select Committee.
