摘要:The purpose of road safety barriers is to protect road users from the risk of injury or death and ensure the safety of people and structures within the roadside. When hit by a vehicle, safety barriers suffer damage. Most of the damage significantly affects the functionality and maintenance costs of the devices. Research under the LifeRoSE project aims to identify the distribution of the frequency and extent of safety barrier damage. The paper presents a test site, proposed research methodology, preliminary (based on a partial dataset) distribution of the frequency and extent of damage to safety barriers and factors that have the biggest effect on the frequency and extent of damage.
