摘要:Two schools of thought have dominated the theory of economic growth overthe past half-century. Te frst and predominant philosophy—associated withPaul Romer, corecipient of the 2019 Nobel Prize in economics, and others—holds that ideas drive economic growth.1. Because ideas, once produced, can becopied and shared with minimal cost (so the story goes), they can fuel sustainedeconomic growth in ways that are not possible for other factors of production.
