摘要：Very Simple Optimization (VSO) is introduced as a new a new global search design and optimization algorithm that is applied to a seminal antenna optimization problem: achieving uniform hemispherical coverage in a dipole-loaded monopole. The VSO-optimized monopole's performance is compared to genetic algorithm and hill-climber designs, and VSO is tested against two suites of benchmark functions and several other algorithms.
