摘要：This is a brief introductory essay about the life and achievements of translator Patrick Creagh (1930-2012), whose previously unpublished versions of three of Giacomo Leopardi's Idilli appear in this volume of CIS devoted to "Italian Sound".Includes commentary on Creagh's ideas about translation and the challenges of translating lyric poetry.
