  • 摘要:Neurotoxicity occurs when the exposure to natural or artificial toxic substances, which are called neurotoxins, alters the normal activity of the nervous system in such a way as to cause damage to nervous tissue. Neurotoxic substances play a role in triggering neurological disorders among humans. The present study provides a quantitative analysis of research productivity of India in the field of neurotoxicology during the ten year span of 2001-10. The data for the study has been taken from Scopus database. It was found that 963 papers have been produced by Indian contributors accounting for 2.31% of the world literature during this time period. Indian Institute of Toxicology Research has contributed the maximum number of papers and A. Kumar of BITS, Pilani is the most prolific author. ‘Brain Research’ is the most preferred journal for publication of articles in this field by Indian authors. 86% of the papers have been cited by others.
