摘要：Water quality by physico-chemical characteristics of Amaravathy river was evaluated for a period of one yearfrom August 2005 to July 2006. The temperature was maintained within the range that commensurate thelocal climatic conditions, and the colour and the odour suited the seasons. The solid contents were thoughwithin the standards, they were on the higher normal side. The pH was found to be essentially alkaline andrelatively similar throughout the study period. The nutrient contents were on the higher normal side. The riverwater is suitable for fishes, agriculture purposes and after appropriate treatment for drinking purposes aswell.
