  • 摘要:A heat exchanger (HE) is a device that is used totransfer heat between two or more fluids, between a solidsurface and a fluid, or between solid particles and a fluid atdifferent temperatures and in thermal contact. HE are usedin a wide variety of applications (Fig. 1). These includepower production; process, chemical and food industries;electronics; environmental engineering; waste heat recov-ery; manufacturing industry; air-conditioning, refri-geration, and space applications. Two of the most populartypes of HE are the shell and tube and the plate heat ex-changer. Shell and tube HE are ideal for applications withextremely high flow rates, temperatures and pressure loads.Plate HE are ideal for applications where temperature andpressure demands are not that high and there is very littleparticle debris or build-up in the fluid. The number andsize of the plates are determined by the pressure drop, tem-perature requirements, flow rate, and physical properties ofthe fluids.
