摘要:In contrast to some Western media depictions, Southern Africa is one of the world’s most dynamicregions. It is currently undergoing a period of rapid and profound economic and associated socialrestructuring. This special issue seeks to uncover some of the dynamics shaping these processes througha variety of different lenses. Five of the articles focus on South Africa, the biggest regional economy whichalso exercises a substantial influence on surrounding countries. This said, we also welcome an article onTanzania in order to give a comparative perspective on the nature of restructuring in the region.
