  • 摘要:This paper addresses the Design and Charecterization of a reusable IP Core for MD5 message digest algorithm, a prominent cryptographic hash function. The MD5, first proposed by R. Rivest in 1992, is a secure hash algorithm in cryptography that produces a 128-bit message digest from an input message of arbitrary length. It was proposed as one of the authentication option in IPv6.The MD5 Core is modeled in Verilog HDL and functionally simulated using Modelsim® SE, followed by prototyping using reconfigurable architecture.
