  • 摘要:Cloud computing is gaining remarkable popularity currently because of its enormous advantages. However, there are several security challenges associated with cloud environment that inhibit the proper adoption of this technology. The problem of vulnerability is one of such challenges. Vulnerabilities make the system prone to external attacks and problems. Further, these keep on increasing exponentially every year. There is a need to efficiently classify and manage the vulnerabilities and to analyze them for identifying the measures to reduce them effectively. This will improve the security of the system. One way to deal with vulnerabilities is finding them and patch them. Several standards and efficient methods and tools are required to deal with this problem. The present study has been conducted to assess the vulnerabilities in a cloud environment. There are two major objectives. The first objective is to identify and understand different types of vulnerabilities in cloud environment. The second objective is to analyze and propose ways and means for effective handling of different vulnerabilities. On the basis of results obtained, the recommendations have been presented.
