摘要:Lossless data embedding has the property that the distortion dueto embedding can be completely removed from the watermarkedimage without accessing any side channel. Very important propertywhenever serious concerns over the image quality and artifactsvisibility arise. We use the general principles as guidelinesfor designing effcient and high-capacity lossless embeddingmethods for three most common image format paradigms –raw, lossy or transform formats (JPEG), palette formats (GIF,PNG), and uncompressed formats (BMP). We present a novellossless (reversible) data-embedding technique that enables theexact recovery of the original host signal upon extraction of theembedded information. We generalize the method in our previouspaper using a decompression algorithm as the coding scheme forembedding data and prove that the generalized codes can reachthe rate–distortion bound as long as the compression algorithmreaches entropy. We improve three reversible data hiding (RDH)schemes that use binary feature sequence as covers in our proposedsystem: a RS scheme for spatial images, one scheme for JPEGimages, and a pattern substitution scheme for binary images. Wealso apply this coding method to one scheme that uses HS bymodifying the histogram shift (HS) manner.
