摘要:The field of data mining involves working on the huge data stored in databases to extract useful information from that data which is otherwise not evident. We perform a research here to use the data from Cleveland database which contains the health records of 300 patients to create a methodology to predict the heart disease in a human being on base of his health statistics.The database contained 73 attributes which were later reduced to 15. We use optimization techniques like simulated annealing and GA to reduce the number of attributes to 5. The effectiveness of decision tree method is further improved by employing local heuristic search algorithm like GA, Tabu Search or simulated annealing before that.
