摘要:The widespread use of learning online has increased the demand ofcourses to be offered online through Virtual Learning Environment(VLE). e-learning is a student oriented process of learning. Butthere still exists areas where e-learning is miles away from thecommon masses due to either lack of facilities or unawarenessand Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) being one among them. The trendin the development in IT Sector of J&K is not encouraging. Thispaper explores and evaluates the present e-learning initiativeswith certain parameters like usability, awareness, availabilityof resources, technical and maintenance issues, impacts onstudents(from teachers point of view),viewpoint of teacherstowards e-learning and benefts of e-learning over traditional wayof teaching. This evaluational study is based upon the informationcollected from teaching faculty of colleges through a well structuredquestionnaire consisting of above stated six parameters.
