摘要:Routing in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) is a challengingtask due to its nature of open medium, infrastructure-less, dynamicand no trusted central authority. In MANET, a node can getcompromised during the route discovery process. Attackers frominside or outside can easily exploit the network. Several securerouting protocols are proposed for MANETs. In this paper, weconsider Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routingprotocol due to the reason that it uses the shortest number ofwireless hops towards a destination as the primary metric forselecting a route with independence of the traffc congestion. Toadd security to AODV, Secure AODV was designed to enhancesecurity services to the original AODV. Secure AODV protocol wasdesigned with cryptographic techniques such as digital signaturesand hash chains, which can have signifcant impact on the routingperformance of AODV routing protocol. An improvement toS-AODV, Adaptive SAODV (A-SAODV) was developed basedon adaptive mechanism. We compare the performance and impactsusing AODV, S-AODV and A-SAODV routing protocols usingNS-2 Simulator. Simulation results will show the performanceimpact of security implements into the original AODV after theimplementations of S-AODV and A-SAODV.
