摘要:The ever-expanding and explosive growth of the Internet overthe last decade has led to an increasing demand for high-speed,ubiquitous Internet access. Broadband Wireless technologiesare increasingly gaining popularity by the successful globaldeployment of the Wireless Personal Area Networks (BluetoothIEEE 802.15.1), Wireless Local Area Networks (WiFi- IEEE802.11b), and Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks (WiMAXIEEE 802.16a). In this paper we have used the QualNet Simulatorto analyze the performance of IEEE 802.11b, 802.15.1, and 802.16aStandards by varying mobility of the nodes. The performancemetrics measured in this study includes end-to-end delay, packetloss ratio, and throughput. The results show how mobility affectsthe performance of IEEE 802.11b, 802.15.1 and 802.16a.
