  • 摘要:Medical Image Processing and its applications in ComputerAssisted Diagnoses (CAD) and therapy (e.g. Computer AssistedSurgery – CAS) are of increasing importance in modern medicine.The most common degradations in medical images is theirpoor contrast quality. Medical Image Enhancement is the artof examining images for identifying objects and judging theirsignifcance. The proposed paper uses the concept of GeneticAlgorithm which was proved to be the most powerful unbiasedOptimisation techniques for sampling a large solution space.Because of unbiased stochastic sampling, they can be quicklyadapted in medical image processing. They can be applied for themedical image enhancement, segmentation, feature extraction,classifcation and image generation. In this paper, we deal withmedical image enhancement using Genetic Algorithm (GA)and the Morphological flter to sharpen the detected edges thusimproving the contrast of the image.
