  • 摘要:Salinity is one of the main abiotic stresses that adversely affect the plants yield throughout the world, but endophytic fungi can benefit the host plants under saline environment. In the current study the growth enhancement of wheat by endophytic fungal strain (Aspergillus flavus) in a saline habitat was studied, that tolerates salt and creates a symbiotic association with a host partner. A. flavus strain was isolated from Cocos nucifera (L.).To evaluate the effect of A. flavus at salt stress condition, seeds of wheat variety Pirsabak-2013 were treated with A. flavus prior to sowing. After germination, 20 day old seedlings were subjected to different concentrations (50, 100, 150 and 200 mM) of sodium chloride (NaCl) stress. Salinity adversely affected all examined growth and biochemical characters of control wheat plants. Seeds treated with A. flavus significantly enhancement in the growth promoting characteristics viz: shoot length, root length, shoot-root fresh weight, shoot-root dry weight and chlorophyll content, biochemical characteristics viz: total sugar, total proteins, phenols and flavonoids, and compatible solutes like proline and glycine betaine, as compared with control plant, A. flavus amended the antagonistic effects of salinity stress in an eco-friendly manner and enhance the growth of wheat plant.
