摘要:Recently in the horror genre of films, mockumentary staging techniques have often been utilized. A mockumentary is a staging technique by which the audience is led to believe that a created work of fiction is actually a documentary. In this paper, taking societal backgrounds into account, we used subjective evaluation experiments to determine why mockumentary staging techniques are so frequently utilized in today's film industry, particularly in the horror genre.Furthermore, in our subjective evaluation experiments, we clarified the significance of the POV (Point-of-View) aspect - afrequently used staging technique when presenting imagery in the mockumentary genre (hereafter mockumentary) - and also the significance of inserting the film's premise at the storyline's beginning. From this, we discussed a depiction of frightening imagery through mockumentary staging techniques.
